GENERAL

How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment with one of our trained professionals, please call 312-222-1414, so our team can help you find the perfect package for you!

How can I earn complimentary sessions?
Share the gift of health, and receive complimentary sessions. Each time you refer a client, you earn 1 session if they purchase a package or multiple sessions. You may choose 1 hour of massage, personal training, or nutrition. If they purchase a single session, you will receive 10% off your next purchase.


How do I know I will succeed in achieving my goals with Escape 2 Fitness when I have tried so many other methods?
Our teamed of trained and academically-degreed professionals takes health and wellness to a deeper level, using intrinsic coaching to help clients constantly move in a forward direction. We are trained to help you identify your unique path toward your personal destination. Our approach is realistic. We will educate you to focus on the positive and acknowledge small successes, which will guide you toward the big picture.

What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide 24-hour notice to cancel any session. We realize that "LIFE HAPPENS," and sometimes you cannot always provide such notice due to emergency situations. Thus, we created a "LIFE HAPPENS" policy which allows our clients to have a less than 24-hour notice cancellation 6 times per year, not exceeding more than one per every 2 months. If you have a special situation, which may cause you to have several less than 24-hour notice cancellations, please inform us immediately, so we may work with you accordingly.

How do I cancel an appointment?
To cancel an appointment, please call 312-222-1414. We recommend also replying to your emailed appointment confirmation. Please await a response from someone from our team to assure the appointment is cancelled. Be sure to allow 24 hours notice. If you are working with a personal trainer, please also call their cell phone to cancel. They will provide their cell phone on the first session.

If you need to cancel an appointment on a weekend, please call the office by Friday at 5pm. We check voicemail at noon and at 6pm on weekends. We also have emergency phone number on our voicemail (option 3) should you need to cancel an appointment with less than 24 hours notice. If you are working with a trainer, please call his or her cell phone.



Can I share a package with a friend?
Yes, you can, however, our packages are designed to help you achieve a specific goal, which may be inhibited if the package is shared among parties.

When can I expect to see results?
You will experience the benefits immediately, which include, but are not limited to higher energy levels, better sleep patterns, improved self-confidence, and a regulated metabolism through incorporating healthy eating patterns and regular exercise into your life. Because each program is tailored toward individual goals, your trained professional will work with you to determine a realistic timeframe to achieve your long term success.

 

Am I responsible for providing parking for the professional who comes to my home or office?

Yes, the client is responsible for providing parking for the Escape 2 Fitness professional. However, we do have some trainers and registered dietitians who do not have cars and only take public transportation. We can try and set you up with one of them if possible.

However, the client is always responsible for providing parking for the massage therapist because the massage therapist has to bring their table and other equipment. If you do not have a parking spot, there are two options: 1) You can add $25 to your purchase and we’ll have the therapist park in a nearby garage or 2) You may reimburse the massage therapist at the time of the appointment for parking. The decision must be made at the time of booking.

 


PERSONAL TRAINING

Can I just meet with a personal trainer a couple times, so I can get a good start and then be set on my own?
It's a little more complex than that... there are several principles to exercise, which include adaptation and progression. Your body will adapt to a fitness program within 4-6 weeks, depending on your program and how often you can dedicate to working out. You then need to make changes to your workout to progress. In addition, your trainer will keep you accountable to your workouts. Although you pay per session, your trainer will be in close contact with you outside of your session to assure you are moving forward toward your goals. Your success rate will be higher the more often you meet with your trainer. The most amount of time we recommend between personal training sessions is 6 weeks in which your trainer can meet with you to update your program. Our trainers have gone to school for years and hold the highest certifications in the industry to assure you are constantly receiving safe and effective workouts and achieving successful outcomes.

What does my initial consultation include?
During the initial consultation, your trainer will have you undergo a few fitness assessments to determine baseline values of your strength, endurance, aerobic capacity, flexibility, and body composition. To help develop your program and set realistic goals, your consultation will also include a lifestyle assessment, as well as a health and exercise history review.

What, if any, kind of equipment do I need?
Our trainers can create an entire program for you without any equipment. Equipment can add variety to your routine, but is not necessary. If interested, our staff can assist you with purchasing equipment at a discounted rate.

Over the holiday season, what is the custom gift for personal trainers?
It is custom to give personal trainers a monetary gift equivalent to one regular priced personal training session.

If my friends and I purchase a group exercise package, and there is one day that I cannot attend, can I make up that session?
If a group class or duo session takes place and a participant cannot attend, the participant cannot make up that session nor is the participant reimbursed by Escape 2 Fitness for the missed session. We charge per session, not per participant. Participants need to discuss payment among each other.

Can I divide an hour session into two 30 minute sessions?
All sessions are one hour in length. A client may choose to shorten a session, however, he/she is still charged for the full hour. This policy is instilled to compensate the trainer for their travel time to and from your home or office.


NUTRITION

Why would it be beneficial for me to meet with a Registered Dietitian (RD) if I have a personal trainer?
Appropriate nutrition is often the missing element to achieving successful health outcomes. Personal trainers are only qualified to provide general nutritional guidance within their scope of practice, whereas an RD can specifically provide detailed and personalized eating plans.

How many times do I need to meet with an RD?
Amount of nutrition counseling depends on previous nutrition knowledge and needs. We offer a variety of packages to best suit your personalized plan.

What are the differences between an RD and a nutritionist?
An RD has fulfilled the requirements designated by the American Dietetic Association, which includes a clinical-based internship and a state licensed through successfully passing of the registered dietitian examination.

Will I be required to purchase supplements and meal plans?
You are not required to purchase anything additional. Your RD will work with you in your current lifestyle.


MASSAGE THERAPY

What type of massage is best for me?
There are many different types of massage. Each is designed to target particular areas of concern and achieve a specific result. Massage therapists are educated in and have practiced a wide variety of massage therapies. A therapist may incorporate numerous types of massage therapy during one session in order to achieve the desired results. Therefore, we recommend that you allow the therapist to decide what type of therapy may work best for your session based on their understanding of your goal.

What do I need to provide the therapist for my massage?
The only thing a client needs to supply is a space large enough for the massage table to be set up and the therapist to move around to do their work.

Do I need to provide music?
The therapist will bring a portable music system with them with music already downloaded. If you prefer to provide your own music, it is perfectly acceptable.

Is there anything I need to do prior to receiving my massage?
You may want to eat a light meal; nothing too heavy to make you uncomfortable while you are on the massage table receiving your treatment. You also may want to shower and warm the skin prior to your massage, but this is not a must.

Please prep the area where the massage is to take place. If furniture or anything needs to be moved, it should be done prior to the therapist arriving.

How early does the therapist arrive before the start of my massage?
The therapist will arrive approximately 20 minutes prior to the start of a session allowing time to park and set up.

Should I tip the massage therapist?
It is custom to tip massage therapists 18-20% of the regular price of the massage.
