I first came to yoga 6 years ago as a means of dealing with a difficult life transition. It only took a few classes for me to become a "yoga addict"! I found yoga to be a powerful method of strengthening and detoxifying the body, but more importantly, I found that while practicing I was really able to let go of the outside world and become present in the moment. For a type "A" personality like me living in our fast paced society, this was a major accomplishment! As I continue to deepen my practice, I try to focus not only on the physical yoga postures, but also on the sense of "letting go" that brought me to yoga in the first place.

My style of teaching is Vinyasa Flow with careful attention to the Iyengar principles of alignment. I sequence classes that allow for maximum heating and detoxification of the body while focusing on increasing muscular strength and flexibility. My classes also focus on the coordination of movement and breath in order to become "present" in the practice. I enjoy teaching both private sessions and group classes and I look forward to the privilege of teaching more aspiring students of yoga. As my practice continues to evolve, I learn more everyday from both my students and my teachers!
